What is BBL?
BBL stands for BroadBand Light therapy, which is one of the most effective ways of treating common skin concerns such as hyperpigmentation and redness with minimal downtime and fantastic results, both immediately and long-term.
Many of the patients we see who are a good fit for BBL are those who are specifically looking to:
- Minimize hyperpigmentation such as age spots, sun spots, and freckles
- Reduce redness caused by broken capillaries, rosacea, and acne
- Improve the overall firmness and tone of the skin, which naturally diminishes due to loss of elasticity with age, exposure to environmental pollutants, and years of inadequate sun protection

How does it work?
Using dual-lamp technology, which allows for the aforementioned level of customization for your skin, we use the BBL device to deliver light energy that gently heats the upper layers of your skin.
This heat is then absorbed by the targeted brown or red areas of pigment, which stimulates the skin to regenerate new cells and collagen, helping to the restore the skin to a brighter, smoother, and more vibrant state.
Furthermore, the BBL device features a cooling mechanism that counteracts with the heat delivered through the light energy to ensure a comfortable treatment experience, which when complete, will leave the skin feeling stimulated similar to that of a slight sunburn.
Post-treatment, patients can expect that feeling to dissipate within a day and see the minimization of pigmentation and redness within one to two weeks.
After the initial corrective BBL™ treatment, we suggest patients receive a future series of Forever Young BBL™ treatments to maintain and optimize results as well as proactively prevent aging.
